install a widget theme

In this tutorial, I’ll explain how to install a lockscreen or springboard widget theme.

pre-requisites

  • A jailbroken iPhone/iPod
  • Winterboard from Cydia
  • OpenSSH from Cydia
  • An SSH/SFTP capable file browser on your computer (for example Filezilla or Cyberduck or a BASH terminal)

installing

  • Download the theme file and unzip it
  • Open up your SSH capable browser and open up an sftp/ssh connection to your iPhone
  • Transfer the directory you’ve just unzipped to the folder /Library/Themes on your iPhone
  • Open up the Winterboard app, and select the theme, and then respring

    • Read the other tutorials to find out how to customise the theme to your location and other aspects of the theme.
